Steve Ash Posted August 1, 2009 Share #21 Posted August 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I keep it with me in a small bag almost all the time. The small size is the very big advantage over a DSLR. Steve
Advertisement Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Hi Steve Ash, Take a look here Where do you keep your M8?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lars_bergquist Posted August 2, 2009 Share #22 Posted August 2, 2009 I keep it in three places. Place 1 is in a Crescenzi full case, modified as per my instructions. Place 3 is in a Crescenzi standard half-case, kept inside (place 3) a Billingham Small Hadley, together with a 75mm Summarit, a 18mm Distagon, a Gossen meter, a SF 24D, a Nikon SC-17 cable and an extra battery. Kent10D Posted August 2, 2009 Share #24 Posted August 2, 2009 Seriously though ... when I'm not out abusing my M8, it lives in a humidity-controlled cabinet along with my other cameras and lenses. It gets very humid here during the rainy season. Fungus-inducing type humid. Edit: I've just noticed that this is my # 666 post ... suppose that's why I feel liking writing something evil? arthurpreston Posted August 2, 2009 Share #25 Posted August 2, 2009 On a shelf that is just high enough so my 2-year old grandson can not reach it.
erl Posted August 2, 2009 Share #26 Posted August 2, 2009 On a shelf that is just high enough so my 2-year old grandson can not reach it. Spoilsport! Give the kid a fair go. My grandson was using an M6 at that age. He started off always using a tripod (to protect the camera from dropping) and later graduated toa neck strap. He now has his own (Canon) P&S and also uses my cams occassionally. Early adopters are always ahead the pack. Creativity at an early age is amazing to witness. Anguish Posted August 8, 2009 Share #27 Posted August 8, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the rangefinder garage. Mind you, when this is constructed from Sahara mahogany and padded with unborn alpaca fur it will fetch a pretty price. Also, it probably should fit inside a safe. Welcome, dear visitor! Bo_Lorentzen Posted August 9, 2009 Share #28 Posted August 9, 2009 WOW.. that is quite a construction. Mine don't live quite that pampered a life, stuffed in a backpack or in the toolbox (cameras). .
stevem7 Posted August 9, 2009 Share #29 Posted August 9, 2009 My M8's travel around the house. One day it may be on the dining room table, the next night on my nightstand or maybe even on the couch. Yes, the M8 loves to watch TV with me No case, unless I am taking them out. But usually, I always have one with me when I am out in which case it will travel in a billingham Leica M bag with a couple of lenses.

Anguish Posted August 10, 2009 Share #33 Posted August 10, 2009 I like/use the rangefinder garage b/c I go out with different kits, depending on the day and what I expect. To the office I take one body and the 40 mm, sometimes in the neopreen case in a cyclist satchel. For the canoe...a different kit w/ a 21 mm and 135 mm locked in the Peli case might be in order. On another day to the county fair, the 21 and 90 on 2 bodies in the Domke bag. The rangefinder garage allows an easy assembly of the required instruments. ArtZ Posted August 10, 2009 Share #34 Posted August 10, 2009 I usually keep mine in Solms (Germany)... LOL So does mine! Maurizio, I think our M8s have become friends during their last holidays at Solms. Maybe, it's the beginning of a love story between them... and hopefully one got pregnant and we'll get twins: Two M9! BTW, do you know how many months takes M8 pregnacy? Two months, maybe? :D

If mine comes back from Solms a bit bulkier than when it went, I'll know who to blame! (Mine was picked up today to have its second sensor replacement.) ArtZ Posted August 10, 2009 Share #36 Posted August 10, 2009 So.. If mine comes back from Solms a bit bulkier than when it went, I'll know who to blame! Nicole, If your comes a bit bulkier from Solms, it's maybe just too many "bratwürste" or too big parts of "schwärzwalderkirschtorte"... so with a little diet, it will be slim and desirable as usual Maurizio's and ArtZ's M8 don't like orgies. They're very formal (and decent) cameras. Now, seriously, I hope your M8 will be cured at Solms from the sensor problem. I know how you can feel... it's really fustrating. All my sympathies.
