Possible eBay scam?

Just came across a seller offering quite a lot of Leica gear, including a M6 outfit, M7 and gold R3 and R4. He does have 100% positive feedback, but requests that any buyers email him before bidding and has offered all items for quick sale. It smells fishy to me- does anyone have experience buying from the seller?

Here is the M6 outfit:

Leica M6 TTL .85 outfit w3 lenses, filters, and flash - eBay, Lenses, Lenses Filters, Cameras Photo. (end time 22-Jul-09 04:51:23 AEST)

Seven pages of volvo and toyota small parts sold in Europe with ten thousand small sales and really happy customers and all of a sudden he is offering an M6 located in Minneapolis, United States? :D

I'd do him the courtesy of contacting him through eBay and asking him if he knows he is selling it.

Still, stranger things .... You never know your luck.

:D Come on, hes a German based car small parts mail order guy, lights and things. The guy in Minneapolis is a crook whos hijacked his account ..... set up two pages of 24 hour auction.

Ohhh .... Hang on. Maybe the guy in germany has been so successful hes up stumped and gone to good ole US of A to sell cameras and other electonic stuff.

That is assuming he actually is in Minneapolis and not in some godforsaken village in Romania.....

Well I dont know who else reported it to the genuine account owner and eBay, but the listing has now gone. They got onto that quick. I guess the guy in "Minesota" romania gets to start again. Shame I was just about to email him for fun to see what country he wanted the money sent:D

I sent an e mail saying I would be bidding on a some of his Leica stuff and had this e mail back (bear in mind I haven't said what I'd be bidding on exactly and most items are obviously old and used);

I closed the auction, Now is still for sale.

The Unit is new,in the original box, including all accessories. They have 3 year international warranty.

You have 30 days to verufy the product and if you don't like it you can send it back and you will get your money back. Is ready to be shipped with Fedex Priority Service insured that means you will receive it within 24 hours.

If you are still interested email me your full name and shipping address and i'll start the deal with eBay.

Regards

This scam is most commonly seen on ebay in connection with car sales.
