Fotomiguel Posted July 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I know some of you have made books with m8 files. I want to try and I have some doubts. -Which service to use? ( I've seen in internet Make your own photo book with Blurb) Is there any better? Who reproduce the best colors? -Should I send full size pictures? -Do they keep the files? -Is BW nice? -Is there any post production or any special care with the files? Any good advise will be very helpful! Thank you. Miguel
Advertisement Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Hi Fotomiguel, Take a look here Making my own M8 books?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
biglouis Posted July 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 21, 2009 Well... if you follow my signature below you can see and example from Blurb... it even has a handy preview of the result... (OK, I know, shameless self-promotion but can you blame me?) LouisB
redbaron Posted July 21, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 21, 2009 If you have a Mac, or access to one, Apple's iPhoto does a fantastic job. The print and paper quality are excellent, the cost is reasonable and the they look great. Good luck.

Well..... fantastic is maybe a bit strong IMO .... they are pretty good when they get it right, but pretty poor when they get it wrong. I have had to get far too many refunds (given almost without question BTW) to give them unqualified approval. Still iPhoto books are quite easy to produce. I find the options in Blurb to be quite mind-boggling in their complexity. I will however struggle on with Blurb's learning curve.
redbaron Posted July 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 22, 2009 Spylaw4, what happened? I must admit to only ever doing B&W books, but what issues have you had?
biglouis Posted July 24, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 24, 2009 I find the options in Blurb to be quite mind-boggling in their complexity. I will however struggle on with Blurb's learning curve. I've been using Blurb for about a year and they have improved their Booksmart software a lot recently. They now allow you to modify the templates which is a real bonus. I'm working on my second book and the ability to modify the templates has opened up a lot of creative possibilities that did not exist before.
