martinop Posted November 13, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 13, 2006 Like the compositional elements mix i.e red leaves foreground + the pond @ midground and trees in the background. The colors and lighting are very pleasing to my eyes. Taken in Vancouver Japanese Gardens?
leicamann Posted November 19, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted November 19, 2006 Thank you Peter and Paul. Paul this was taken at Van Dusens Botanical Gardens. The Japanese Garden is at Nitobe Memorial Gardens at UBC, I 've completed the summer and Fall segments of that project and waiting for the snow for the next instalment, its tricky because the garden is always very contrasty on bright days, the snow adding to the difficulties. Regards, Leicamann
stuny Posted November 20, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 20, 2006 John - "Oh my!" as Annie Savoy said in Bull Durham. Really lovely colors and composition. It would be interesting to see the same thing (though the maple is probably bare by now) with a blue sky, and also with a low sun.
