I have a radical suggestion

This is:-

a) beyond a joke

B) boring

The point has been made - many times over. Let's let Leica get on with it. Those who have bought M8s have a right to report on their findings and express their disappointment - or satisfaction.

Everyone else standing around leaning on their shovels looking into the hole and commenting upon it's depth and general holey-ness does not contribute to filling it in.

While we are waiting, if just a little of the effort and time devoted to reiteration of the same blasted things on this forum were to be focussed (geddit?) on TAKING PICTURES, using whatever equipment or medium floats your boat, the world, and this forum would, I am sure, be a better and far less boring place.

Regards,

Bill

Like I said my plan is to get it working so we can shoot the damn thing. No time for whining about it. It is what it is and let's move on

I am grabbing my M6 classic and 28 cron and heading out for coffee and Kodachrome. I'll do like I always do and stuff the 50 asph in my pocket.

What a great camera!

Well, why are people making these faults of buying the first products of a new highly complex production line, like the M8 and then be disappointed by som issues?

Actually not Leica is the issue here, because everybody with some basic knowledge about any digital products could have thought about the high risk of getting non satisfactory first production line output.

So the issue is purely on the buyers, who were so keen and desperate to even preorder. Now they should go with patience over the next few months and have their problems resolved - and basically not try to further ruin the name of Leica, because this would be the same with all companies who bring such an advanced solution with so less know how and experience to the market.

Some cameras seem to be more equal than others.

This is all about (the lack of) competition.

If you don't like digital Nikons you can switch to Canon (or the other way around).

If you don't like the faults of the M8, there is no rangefinder competitor (sorry Epson).

People who want to stop the discussion seem to protect their need of a digital rangefinder (and investment in M lenses).

I have no problem with that, but I cannot agree with people who state that discussing the faults is a threat to the future of Leica.

Leica should solve them in order to satisfy their customers, and no one else.

perhaps if these "stupid" lets stop it thread would STOP to appear every 10 mintues or so....

One gets closed down, the other starts up, hooray by the the forum big-wigs ....

Do I have to explain human nature to you guys?

I will....

Starting these threads is an open invitation for everyone to express his or her feelings towards the subject... and things will roll on and on, and on, and on .... get the picture?

If you want to stick out or suck up .... just don't start these threads..... be a gentlemen to your wife, wave at people in the street, be friendly to all, give a panhandler a couple of bucks, lots of ways to be helpfull without any deeper consequence

...Did I say that?

What I said was that all the repetition is TEDIOUS.

Life's too short. Go and take a picture.

I've made the same point in other threads. No one is saying Leica don't have a responsibility to correct the situation. Let's see what Leica come up with as a solution and then argue the toss ;-)
