From all that I have read the IR issue was/is pretty clear cut - it is a primary problem with sensors. So, I have no doubt that Leica knew about the potential IR issue but that they were more concerned with sharpness than colorcast. They made a mistake. We have an appropriate expression in the US (and I am sure everywhere else in this world) concerning topics such as this and I think it applies here. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water. Leica is in some dirty water but the M8, by all accounts is a very beautiful baby. Leica is working on it, so let us put our energy into something other than creating a kerfuffle. I remember the old forum, and its rather sad that this place has become more and more like photo.net.
