dankhong Posted July 11, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Folks, I had a chance to try out the Summilux-M on a Lumix G1 using a Voigtlander adapter. Set at f5.6, aperture priority mode, I noticed that the shutter speed on the camera was 6, which I interpret as 1/6 sec. Checking the exposure setting with my Voigtlander VC meter revealed an exposre setting of 1/60 sec at f5.6. ISO was 400 on both camera and meter. Shots taken showed some degree of camera shake consistent with a shutter speed of 1/6 sec. I wonder why is there such a vast difference in the shutter speed on the camera as compared with that on the external exposure meter? Dan K. Advertisement Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Hi dankhong, Take a look here 50 Summilux-M on Panasonic G1. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
marknorton Posted July 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 11, 2009 The G1 is metering through the lens and the 50mm lens will be providing a much more narrow field of view than the VC meter. You can also set the G1 meter to a spot meter mode which will narrow the field even further. With the difference in field of view, it's possible the two meters are looking at entirely different brightness levels leading to different readings. Sandokan Posted July 17, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 17, 2009 Mark has a good possibility there. I do not see what you have seen with my images and the images are always properly exposed.
andrlik_mischa Posted July 17, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 17, 2009 On my G1 I always take mode "M" (manual metering) when using Leica-lenses. I never had a problem with this metering and you can see the result immediately on the screen. Greetings - Mischa
