Zombie Posted July 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've got a viewfinder and want to minimise the use of the LCD to save battery. Is it possible to shut down the LCD at all?
Advertisement Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Hi Zombie, Take a look here Shutting off LCD on D-Lux 4?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Zelig Posted July 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 10, 2009 Just go to Main Menu and select "external VF" -ON- You'll only have LCD ON when manipulatin Spedd or Aperture in joystick. I have no my D4 at this moment here but I think is External VF or Viewfinder, the option. Hope helps!
wmyowell Posted July 10, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 10, 2009 When you have selected "External Viewfinder On", the LCD screen will be off, but the green focus confirmation dot will show up, and you can see it out of the corner of your eye, even when looking through the external viewfinder. Further, the LCD screen will show the "proof" picture for a moment after you take the picture. Bill Yowell
jaapv Posted July 10, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 10, 2009 And you can activate the LCD by pushing the LCD button. Further pushes will walk you through the settings and finally switch it off again.
Jeff S Posted July 10, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 10, 2009 I think you'll find the Panasonic operating manual more helpful than the dlux4 manual for various issues...http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/DMCLX3.PDF Jeff

Just press the menu set button and scroll menu. (You can use the zoom lens switch to toggle to different menus.) Oh, and see link to manual I posted above...it's all explained there.
