I'm pretty sure that is the right spelling... anyway what do i know... i lived in Manaattan! Bruccolino may be the the most similar word to the spelled one, but I'm sure it's called "broccolino" or "broccolinese" as well, since it was the name of a vegetable (broccoli) and it was the most similar word to the name of Brooklyn.. Not to buy a new M8 and sell the other. Whatever. I would have it repaired to salve my conscience before dumping it on the Bay and get an M8.2 Mentally deduct the price of an upgrade and the second year of guarantee from the price of the new camera and the net loss should be minimal. And one can keep using an M8 whilst the other one is languishing in Solms. They are quite slow nowadays. I got an e-mail from Andrea Frankl that adjusting a brand new Summilux 50 was going to take four weeks - due to "unavailability of spare parts". Yeah - right. They ran out of shims I guess. A brand new lens, in full production, for a simple job. Even if some esoteric part of the floating element mechanism needs replacing, they could pluck it off the production line. I finally gathered more than 6 months without failure, to knock on wood. I think I would ask them to send me a new one and pick the broken one up with no costs for me. SOOHN Posted July 2, 2009 Share #30 Posted July 2, 2009 I've got a similar problem with M8. The first 3 M8s came with 2 or more Pixelerrors. And now my 4th got the vertical line error. Leica will repair it within a month. Very long time I think. If I shot withe the Summicrons and close aperture to 11 or 16 I'll see many of dustpix. I hope they will clean it too. I am impressed with the patience many people seem to have with Solms. Waiting for a lens, OK, but the camera? Four times? Actually I think Leica's lucky to have such a great bunch of resellers... Matter of fact my reseller lended me a substitute camera the first three/two times I had to send it to Solms. This time I'm just about to think if switching to something else is suitable to me. Jamie, actually my M8 is an M8u as I upgraded the shutter, matter of fact I don't mind if it's an M8u or M8.2 , Obviously if they would offer "just" an M8 as a replacement, I could be somehow uncertain since I payed many euros to get it upgraded!
