Englander Posted June 24, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 24, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Knowing how many on this forum revere Henri Cartier-Bresson, I thought you might like to know that Mike Johnson, over at the The Online Photographer has posted a link to another blog Boogie Woogie Flu: Weegee Speaks! that has posted an HCB recording from the 50s when he discussed the Decisive Moment. A direct link the mp3 file is http://tedbarron.com/BWF-June-2009/23-Henri-Cartier-Bresson.mp3 I posted this same info over at "film" but I know a lot you guys never look there, so I hope the authorities will excuse the double-posting. Advertisement Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 Hi Englander, Take a look here HCB 1950s voice recording. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
zlatkob Posted June 24, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 24, 2009 It's great to hear HCB from back in the time when he was younger and still doing photography. The later interviews (in various documentaries and on YouTube) are interesting too, but they just don't have the same immediacy as this one.
stunsworth Posted June 24, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 24, 2009 I think someone beat you to it... http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/barnacks-bar/90172-weegee-hcb-speak.html I hadn't realised that HCB used an M8.
okram Posted June 24, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 24, 2009 He did use one. It is mentioned in the recording. He is ranting about BW conversion software too.
Fotomiguel Posted June 24, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 24, 2009 Thank you for posting this! I enjoy always hearing a Cartier Bresson. He is my favourite photographer and every word he say is plenty of wisdom. If you study his photography and tecnique you'll improve your photography with a m camera very much. There are many interviews in youtube as well. When he was older, he was much more calm and his words became more deep and special.
