sandymc Posted June 23, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) CornerFix V1.1.0.0 is now available for download. Changes are: 1. Added MakerNote decoding for Elmar-M 18mm f/3.8 ASPH 2. CornerFix is now Windows 7 compatible. Those that tried the previous version will know that while it "worked", there were no images displayed. After a substantial amount of change under the hood, V1.1.0.0 is now 100% Windows 7 compatible. Downloads are in the usual place: SourceForge.net: CornerFix - just hit the big green button, and select the appropriate package/release. Sandy Sandy, I don't understand the need for special decoding for a specific lens (SEM 18)... When using previous versions I see no way the application even would know what focal length I was using? When using previous versions I see no way the application even would know what focal length I was using? Assuming the lens is coded, CornerFix will know what lens is used from reading the MakerNotes. That information is used to update the EXIF with estimated aperture data, etc, if you select that option. Sandy

sjt1 Posted June 23, 2009 Share #7 Posted June 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes, thanks also from me for making a terrific program that I use in place of in-camera correction because I think Cornerfix corrects better!

scott kirkpatrick Posted June 23, 2009 Share #9 Posted June 23, 2009 Note that Cornerfix, as a side effect, gives you a full decode of the Maker Notes, which contain the unique exposure id (roughly speaking, a count of shutter activations in that camera body), and the f/stop estimated by comparing the exposure measured from the "blue dot" with that seen TTL. Sandy's estimate is more reliable that the one provided by Capture One, in my experience. Both draw on the very nice detective work done on the M8 EXIF and MakerNotes by Carl Bretteville. scott
