Advertisement Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Hi peera1197, Take a look here Suggestion please. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted June 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 22, 2009 Uv/Ir detection on. Unless you have a lens that is detected incorrectly by a screw in the mount it is best to leave it on all the time. That is if you are indeed using filters. At the very least you will not forget to reset it when mounting a coded wideangle.
peera1197 Posted June 22, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted June 22, 2009 Thank you, Jaap
akiralx Posted June 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 22, 2009 Though without a code the camera software won't do any corrections, of course (but doesn't need to) - I agree with Jaap you may as well leave it on, and always keep the filter on.
Shootist Posted June 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 22, 2009 Though without a code the camera software won't do any corrections, I'm not sure of that. I think it still does some type of generic correction even without any code to tell it what lens is on the camera.
jaapv Posted June 22, 2009 Share #6 Posted June 22, 2009 That is indeed the case, but nothing you couldn't compensate for in post-processing.
AlanJW Posted June 22, 2009 Share #7 Posted June 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I agree with jaapv. I have two lenses that are not coded but I always leave the camera in the detect/filter mode so I won't forget when I switch over. I haven't noticed anything dramatic in frames from either of the lenses. Of course they are longer lenses, (75mm CV and 90mm Macro Elmar), so perhaps this is because they are less prone to vignetting and less prone to color shifts in the corners. rycm Posted June 23, 2009 Share #8 Posted June 23, 2009 I would just handcode these lenses, it work fine for me. It wear off eventually, but I don't switch lenses all that much in the field.
