I haven't paid for a ticket to a car race for three years now.

:D

Thank you. You are too generous in your praise (but I like it!).

:)

I've always thought that being a little bit different, shooting up close with a wide angle lens on a film camera, made my pictures distinctive. Maybe someday mags like SI will want to see an alternative perspective, one aside from the ubiquitous digicam 70-200 zoomed in from 50 feet away.

I can't recall specifically right now but I'm going to guess that it's 20 sets allocated per car at Indy. That is for a whole month of practice, qualifying and racing though; so it's really not too many all things considered.

Teams often roll the cars from the garage area (about 1/4 mile away from the pitlane) on the treaded tires as their diameter is greater than the slicks and less likelihood of scraping the bottom of the car on a joint in the concrete or asphalt. Also keeps dirt and debris off the slicks.

Sadly the grid girls of the USGP at Indy, who were always my favorite subjects (tall, scantily clad and friendly--at least to me they were), have met the same dismal fate as the race itself. With the absence of F1 we have precious little feminine beauty at Indy to share.

:(
