booggerg Posted November 9, 2006 Share #3 Â Posted November 9, 2006 open ended question. No answer for it. Kinda like.. "What is the best automobile available?"
brunom Posted November 9, 2006 Share #4 Â Posted November 9, 2006 There is no such thing as the best 'this or that' only what's best for you. Do we need the 'best' to take great photos ? I don't think so. Â Bruno
palmskov Posted November 9, 2006 Share #5 Â Posted November 9, 2006 In my world the digilux 2 is somehow the best available digital camera available. Nice size, good lense and delivers stunning photos. Have tried to compare it against nikon and canon dslr and it beats them...
johnastovall Posted November 9, 2006 Share #6 Â Posted November 9, 2006 In terms of image quality in a 35mm format, I have to say the Canon 5D. It may not have a high fps or lots of AF site but does lovely images. Â But it's big and noisy, I still want an M8. Different cameras for different uses. Â i have the D2 and a canon. can't unequivocally say one is better than the other; both have strong points over the other. i will agree that the D2 is a very fine camera and possibly one of the best 5mp cameras ever made. alexr Posted November 9, 2006 Share #8 Â Posted November 9, 2006 Agree, i love my D2 and am sooo angry they did not upgrade it, to say 8 mp with a great big sensor to ensure low noise. Who cares if it becomes bigger-uglier. I would have bought one immediately. Personally I dont care if the m8 looks great either. Make it a monster, ugly as hell, just let me put m lenses on it and make it work. thats all i ask.

grober Posted November 9, 2006 Share #11 Â Posted November 9, 2006 Seriously considering giving up my place in line for the M8, buying a Ricoh GR-D and wait for Leica to arrive at an acceptable solution. (Buying many IR filters is NOT acceptable!) Â Absent an acceptable solution, it is not impossible that I might sell or abandon my Leica gear (despite a forty history with six different M cameras.) Â Times . . . they are a-changin'. Â -g
