juliussharpe Posted June 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello - I have been lurking here for awhile and learned a lot. Was so persuaded by many of your posts that I bought a used D2 which is great...This morning I noticed a speck of dust (I think) that seems to be inside the lens. Not sure it's affecting anything other than my mind. Can anyone recommend a way to get it out? Thanks in advance.

stunsworth Posted June 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 16, 2009 Don't bother, dust like that inside the lens won't affect the image. There's a theoretical chance that it will increase flare, but it's unlikely you will ever notice anything. If you ever want to frighten yourself, shine a torch though a lens and look at the dust you can see. A different camera, a different lens, but Doug Herr, a member of this forum, recently posted a couple of images taken with a telephoto lens with a scratched and pitted from element. In other words in far worse condition than the one on your Digilux.
