KM-25 Posted June 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just bit the bullet and picked up a mint Leica Pradovit RT-s projector with the Super-Colorplan Pro 90mm 2.5 lens. I would like to score the remote for it but most importantly, a few spare bulbs. It looks like it takes a 300 watt / 82 volt bulb. I see several on B&H for $14-$40 each. Anyone have experience with this?
Advertisement Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Hi KM-25, Take a look here Spare bulbs for Pradovit RT-s Projector.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dritz Posted June 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 15, 2009 You might also try bulbman.com. I own the same projector, and you'll be very happy with it. The wireless remote is the only way to invoke the dimming feature between slides; it's a very pleasing effect. You may already know that the Ektapro remote (both the IR and corded version) work on the RT -- and are much easier to acquire than the Leica branded ones. I ordered a replacement bulb from Leica USA, and received a GE bulb from them. I subsequently ordered 10 bulbs from another source. Apparently, there is nothing special about a Leica bulb. I do suggest stocking up. Enoy.
rick_dykstra Posted June 16, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 16, 2009 Great projector. I agree with dritz on the remote. Also, try the 150 mm lens - awesome. Best with Gepe 3mm Anti Newton glass mounts. I used RealBasic to set up a program to run a show, but found that just using the remote with fade was good enough..
KM-25 Posted June 24, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted June 24, 2009 Great info on the remotes. Now here is another question: In the lamp housing, there are two metal clips that keep both the heat lens and the condenser lens in place. They are easy to move, well....easy enough that the one for the condenser lens is missing and the lens is flopping around. I want to get the clip so I am wondering where to find it or someone who knows where to find it. Right now, I have small pieces of gaffer's tape holding it in place and it seems to stay cool enough, but it is still a fire hazard and is not ideal. So where does one find parts for this puppy? garyp Posted June 24, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 24, 2009 For me, as pertains to anything Leica in terms of parts and repairs it's Kindermann Canada Swarovski Kahles Ask for Mr. Gerry Smith or Gary Perry, they are really nice folks and Mr. Smith especially is well versed in all things Leica. They've done great work for me [and sorry NJ, Solms, Sherry K. and DAG] I think they are the best ! They are an official Leica repair station. KM-25 Posted July 30, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted July 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK, so now I have a wonderful 7 foot Da-lite Picture King screen and a Ektapro RA / LP IR remote. The remote is great and includes the laser pointer. But, I am having a hard time figuring out the "Soft Slide Change" mode. I key in the duration code ( 810 for 1 second ) and then the star key for enter and it does not dim. My projector is the RT-S, am I able to do soft change mode? Thanks! dritz Posted July 30, 2009 Share #8 Posted July 30, 2009 I just looked at a PDF of the Leica projection brochure. The "soft slide change" is supported only by the the RT-m. Let me know if you want me to take the RT-s off your hands! Also, I can email you the PDF brochure if you send your email address; it's very imformative. KM-25 Posted July 31, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted July 31, 2009 OK, that makes sense. The remote is still great so I will use it as is. As for selling the RT-S, Ha! Surely you know how rarely these pop up for sale. I just looked at a PDF of the Leica projection brochure. The "soft slide change" is supported only by the the RT-m.
