Rob - no, it wasn't Marc.

This was a forum member, floated the idea, got some response and did set up the site with some articles from a couple of forum members.

I cannot remember who it was either but I did read the site for awhile and thought I had bookmarked it but alas I cannot find it.

Bummer, now I have an itch......:o

Wow that was quick! Black+White Photography arrived in the Colonies ;) today! The Paul Anthony pictures are excellent and I've seen the one of the birds and the boy at the table before - maybe at a gallery in London?

I really enjoy B&W magazine they do a good job. I pick them up when i go to the book store now and then.

This could be a little OT, but...

I am a B&W subscriber. It is a quality magazine, however the last special issue (portfolio contest 2008) really disappointed me. There are some HDR photo; I hate HDR, and it is really diffuclt for me to accept that a collectors/fine art black & white magazine simply considers HDR photos...

I would appreciate your thoughts my friends....

bye

You are talking about the same Black & White, aren't you? The one published in the UK...?

Regards,

There is a US magazine of the same name, so there is some confusion. IIRC, Borders sell both versions - I might have a look on the way home tonight, if this storm abates. I do enjoy reading the UK version, I have to say.

It is confusing but the UK mag have changed their name, replacing the ampersand with a plus, so it is now called Black+White Photography.

Not so sure it is a good move as no one seems to realize that the filters are branded B+W and not B&W...

I subscribe to both US and UK B&W mags - the US one (which I have advertised in) is aimed at photo collectors the UK one is aimed at photography users. Different markets - but the US B&W has great single image and portfolio competitions.

I thought the contest edition of B&W (American) was quite inspiring. Not everything was to my taste but most of it was well worth a long look.

I end up buying the B&Ws from both sides of the Atlantic.
