stevelap Posted June 15, 2009 Share #41 Posted June 15, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) ......Everybody will use his/her own standard to judge whether it's good or bad......The photographic world is full of great gear choices ... whatever Leica will do, I hope it's good and they can have my money again if it lives up to the hype. I agree with you Simon, and that's certainly the bottom line. I'm not an R user, but do sympathise with those of you who currently are, nevertheless I am interested (in case the S2 proves too expensive:)) in the R replacement saga. As I said earlier "I don't know" when it comes to speculating on how well this might pan out, but I do wish Leica well. As it stands, and until we hear much more of whatever is planned as a future 'digial R solution', I now see the S and M as Leica's premium core products, with a new Digilux line to feature alongside them eventually (plus the compacts of course). In other words, the S2 is the new digital SLR and the S product line completely replaces the R as Leica's SLR offering. As for anything else, we'll just have to wait and see. A future Digilux strategy though, might just give them an opportunity to surprise us all with an avant-garde offering.
