Zombie Posted June 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I wish the 24 mm would have been with the lens contracted, not erected. More chance of bumping into stuff in a good, fast focal length...otherwise it seems fine.
Advertisement Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Hi Zombie, Take a look here First impression of D-Lux 4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
kalina Posted June 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 10, 2009 It's a beautiful camera. I just got mine back from repairs yesterday and missed it so much!

To me it seems counterintuitive that a shorter focal length would result in a longer physical lens length. But then I'm not an optical designer... Get the adapter that Lens Mate sells and you will not have to worry about bumping that awesome little lens into anything. I put one on my Dlux 4 along with a Hoya UV filter and it works great. bill Posted June 11, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 11, 2009 I've always been surprised at this. To me it seems counterintuitive that a shorter focal length would result in a longer physical lens length. But then I'm not an optical designer... I've had SLR zooms, from memory from Sigma and Contax, that did the same. I'll repeat my wish here, since we are on the subject - I'd like to see an option to start up at 60mm. That's where I do most of my shooting and it seems to me that I'm wasting time and battery power every time I start up. Regards, Bill
Zombie Posted June 12, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted June 12, 2009 Adding all the adapters makes it larger. Then I might go back to my SLR instread...
