Yesterday I was trying to find old datasheets and during my search found this: This lens provides owners of the titanium finish LEICA M6 with the opportunity to add the popular 90 mm focal length to their equipment, matching the existing 35 mm- and 50 mm-lenses. luigi bertolotti Posted June 8, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 8, 2009 As for all the "titanium" versions of Leica products, it's only a finishing of surfaces, no solid titanium in itself... I had some experience in MACHINING titanium... it sends skyrocketing the production costs for it "eats" costly tools at an impressive rate, requires special precautions on machine tools for dangerous powders... it wouldn't have any sense in a camera. And they did make a one-off M, in solid titanium throughout, for an arab sheikh. Lord only knows how much it cost him. There was an article about it in an issue of LFI a few years ago.
