Advertisement Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Hi psamson, Take a look here Apple update - M8.2 now supported, D-LUX 4 still not supported . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ceflynn Posted June 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 5, 2009 It does seem to be taking an unusually long time for the D-Lux 4 to be supported by Aperture. Fortunately, a good deal of your knowledge of Aperture is transferrable to Capture One, which comes with the camera. If you have not already tried it, you might be in for a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, getting the corrections for spherical and chromatic aberration requires the $300 upgrade to Capture One Pro.
andybarton Posted June 5, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 5, 2009 How was the M8.2 not supported before? I thought that the files were identical to the M8 files
psamson Posted June 6, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted June 6, 2009 Andy, I'm not sure. It was just explicitly listed as the M8.2. Perhaps Apple did it for clarity. Perhaps for confirmed testing and support. Dunno.
jonoslack Posted June 6, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 6, 2009 Hi There Andy has it, the M8.2 was already supported, but not explicitly . . . they do like to add things to their lists! I suspect the D-lux4, with it's lens correction information, will not be supported (like the Lx3 and the G1) Hopefully the E-P1 will fare better. Still, Adobe dng converter will now produce okay versions of the D-lux4 files (but without lens correction) which Aperture will read.
ceflynn Posted June 14, 2009 Share #6 Posted June 14, 2009 There is a very interesting and detailed thread about support for the Leica D-Lux 4 and the Panasonic LX-3 at: Apple - Support - Discussions - Panasonic LX-3 RAW support ... The thread states that Capture One corrects for spherical aberration but not for chromatic aberration. Does anyone know of any documentation that details what lens correction features are in Capture One as opposed to Capture One Pro?
