fotografr Posted November 20, 2006 Author Share #41 Posted November 20, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bret I must care about my work as I rarely lose a image once it is downloaded, can't remember tha last one. But if it is gone its gone and I just get on with the next one, it isn't precious, just as the many missed photos are not there I don't recall ever throwing a tantrum over a lost image. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to do what I can to recover one. Obviously, if images are gone due to fire, flood, hard drive crash, or whatever, one just goes on. I'm glad to hear you've never lost an image. Most of us around here are not quite so infallible.

woodyspedden Posted November 20, 2006 Share #42 Posted November 20, 2006 Brent I have used this recovery software by Prosoft called Picture Rescue. It works very well. It is amazing what Genuine Fractols can do. It is both a blessing and a curse. I recently tried Photozoom and it worked very well. However it takes forever to process the file, especially compared to Photoshop CS2 Bicubic Smoother. I am not technically good enough to compare the files, i.e. I am not sure exactly what to look for so at present I can't justify the $200 costs of Blowup or Photozoom when I have already spent large bucks on Photoshop. It would be great if someone out there have done such comparisons and could guide all of us on the values of each. Woody Spedden

There is also a free 30 day trial for Genuine Fractals so you can see how it works and decide whether it's worth it for you. onOne Software - Products - Genuine Fractals
