razerx Posted June 4, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a 15mm Super Elmar-R and with the M adapter can use it on the M8 with good results. I would like to mount a UV/IR filter on the turret. Leica probably won't do this because I doubt such filter exists. So has anyone had such filters changed by a third party? If I know the dimensions of the filter I can have one made. I'll worry about the vignetting and cyan issues later. First order of business is to solve the color shift problem. Advertisement Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Hi razerx, Take a look here How to replace filters: Leica 15mm f/3.5 Super Elmar-R. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted June 4, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 4, 2009 Would it not be simpler to improvise a filter in the adapter? Vignetting would change with aperture too in that position, but that can be handled through Cornerfix.

I managed to secure a 43mm UV/IR with foam double sided tape. The filter isn't going anywhere. I am indebted to you sir!
razerx Posted June 5, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted June 5, 2009 Just so you kids don't try this at home, my excitement was short lived as the filter somehow created extreme front focus making the scale focusing unreliable.
