wattsy Posted November 6, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 6, 2006 Hasn't Sean Reid done these kind of comparative tests in his recent review(s)? (I'm not a subscriber but many others in this forum are and should be able to confirm this and point you in the right direction.)
marknorton Posted November 6, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 6, 2006 Yes, there are comparative tests of with and without lens coding in the latest part of Sean's M8 review. Reflects Leica's attention to detail where others might say, "that'll do".
scott kirkpatrick Posted November 6, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 6, 2006 You'll have to look to reach your own conclusions, but I felt that for the newer, wider lenses with coding, vignetting was essentially optional. If you like it, turn off code sensing. If you don't like it, it's gone with the sensing on, cancelled before the raw file is written out. scott
