ctb Posted February 24, 2007 Share #4 Posted February 24, 2007 Now that without a shadow of doubt is a very beautiful bird. Very nostaligic, apart from the Daily Express hoarding, Chris
stuny Posted February 24, 2007 Share #5 Posted February 24, 2007 Pete - Delightful for its angle, light, subject and air. I'll be sending a copy to an aviation buff who will soon marry into the family.
elansprint72 Posted February 24, 2007 Author Share #6 Posted February 24, 2007 Thanks (again) to Ed for dragging this one from obscurity This was taken at the lamented Woodford Air Show; which fell victim to the Foot & Mouth epidemic and a new airfield manager(!) a few years ago; evidently he was just waiting for an excuse to cancel this wonderful bi-ennial show:( At this particular show in the mid '70s the commentator asked if anyone had an upper mid turret for a Lancaster in their back garden, because this airframe never had one fitted, of course someone did have (well, soesn't everyone?) and it is now flying with the Battle of Britain Memorial flight! Stuart, if you e-mail me (no e-addresses on this lap-top) I'll send you the full size file and a couple of others, although my brand-new faulty PC has had to go away for a few days, so slight delay possible. Cheers, Pete.
