Hello

Noob here but have read everything about the DL4,but could not find any info about the pro's & con's of buying the standard Pani lens adapter & use the 46 mm lens or try another Japanese brand that I have found here in HKG that also sells accessories for the LX3/DL4 & offers a 52 mm converter.

Thanks in advance

Welcome!

I have gone for the 52mm version. It comes with a front cap and I have added a rear. I then carry my SBOOI in it, wrapped in a lens cloth, when not in use and both are off the camera.

I went for the 52mm for two reasons:

1. It is far easier to get 52mm filters (and I already have some)

2. I have large hands and the extra diameter "feels right".

Hope this helps,

Bill

Funnily enough, I have been planning to do so - I have been planning to write a short "user review" both of the adaptor and of the 2.5x tele-extender that I have acquired. Bear with me - I may get a chance over the coming bank holiday weekend.

Regards,

Bill

For what it's worth, I have a 52MM tube adapter made by Panda. Got it from West coast Camera. Came with a great sunshade that can be used with filters on the tube. Very nicely made for being a Chinese made product with some of the nicest finish I've seen on a camera accessory.

I got the 46mm lens adapter from lensmate. It looks very nice and then ordered some step up rings from Adorama so that I can fit my current 52mm, 58mm and 77mm filters on it. That sure beat the price of buying all new filters!

I am happy with my choice. :)
