doubice Posted May 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Digilux 2 came back from Leica New Jersey about a year ago, with a new sensor. I used it a few times but, since the M8 is now my main camera, I put it away and only used it very occasionally. Never with flash....... Today, I tried to take some flash shots and I cannot get the flash to fire or, display in the finder. As I always understood, the flash would come on automatically if ambient light was insufficient - at least that is what I remember from a few years ago when I used it. Now, with exposures in the 1/8s range and the flash head up, I cannot access the flash menu and the flash won't fire. I even took out the manual and read all pages pertaining to flash operation. Is there anything else that some of you Digilux 2 users can recommend? Am I forgetting something? Many thanks, Jan

wda Posted May 19, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 19, 2009 Jan I use bounce flash indoors a lot. Have you pressed the tiny flash button on the top plate right hand side?
stuny Posted May 19, 2009 Share #3 Posted May 19, 2009 Jan - I had exactly the same problem when I got my replacement D2. The tiny button that David references is the answer. See below. You'll need the flash open, the camera switched on, and if I recall, in the review mode, though maybe the record mode.
John Thawley Posted May 19, 2009 Share #4 Posted May 19, 2009 The button Stuny is referencing turns the flash On/Off, Automatic, Automatic w/ Red Eye, Manual, Manual w/ Red Eye. The flash does need to be open and the camera in "record" mode in order to access this menu.
