Fotomiguel Posted November 4, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 4, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) The samples are from LFI International I'm getting depressed. I have no money for the M8. The samples are crop 100x100
Advertisement Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Hi Fotomiguel, Take a look here Digilux 3 vs M 8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spylaw4 Posted November 4, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 4, 2006 Neither do I Miguel. But the D3 will do very nicely IMO.
wattsy Posted November 4, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 4, 2006 The images look like they have been run through some badly adjusted noise reduction software. The lack of any detail in the faces looks a bit spooky. Are these high ISO pics?
Fotomiguel Posted November 4, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted November 4, 2006 The pictures are crop and I think that the original samples were in low light conditions. Both are 100 iso
MJLogan Posted November 4, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 4, 2006 If you look at the full image set, you'll see (or at least I see) that the D3 performed like a mid-level DSLR, apart from a somewhat weaker high ISO performance than a comparable Canon or Nikon. For a shooting situation that seemed designed to highlight the weaknesses of smaller sensors (low, mixed light, lots of tiny detail), I think the D3 acquitted itself rather well. The M8 performed like an M. There's a reason for the price difference.
