Advertisement Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Hi abrewer, Take a look here Anybody else get "The Letter" from Leica?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted May 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 12, 2009 Times are hard. They want your cash.
Shootist Posted May 12, 2009 Share #3 Posted May 12, 2009 I didn't get a 20% off letter but I did get a letter with a cash back offer on lenses. I have all I'll need or want so it does me no good.
peter_n Posted May 12, 2009 Share #4 Posted May 12, 2009 I also got the cash back offer, 10% on a lens of $5K or more up to 20% on a lens costing $1K and the promotion ends June 30. However the small print says the new Noctilux and both 21 & 24mm Summilux lenses are excluded, so it doesn't do me much good either.
andybarton Posted May 12, 2009 Share #5 Posted May 12, 2009 The new lenses were excluded from the UK promotion too - hardly surprising though. Despite two people here being saddened that they cannot benefit from this personally, I am sure that there are many who will be able to swell their bags for a substantial saving over the next 6 weeks. As an aside, I was in my local dealer this morning, passing a pleasant 10 minutes. He can't get hold of enough M equipment (new and used) to satisfy the demand. twittle Posted May 12, 2009 Share #6 Posted May 12, 2009 Yup. I got the letter, too. Wish I was in a position to take advantage... I'd probably buy the new 18.

Shadow Blaster Posted May 13, 2009 Share #8 Posted May 13, 2009 Didn't get the 20% off letter but did get a sliding scale rebate letter, right after I just bought the new 24mm 3.8 Elmar from Robert White (UK). The dollar/pound conversion worked better to my advantage.
underground Posted May 13, 2009 Share #9 Posted May 13, 2009 They sent me the letter, and they didn't give me my rebate for my 28 2.8 yet and after many emails I sent I still don't think they plan on it either. I won't buy a new lens until I get the re-bate they promised.
sliversurger Posted May 13, 2009 Share #10 Posted May 13, 2009 great thing for canadians are that leica rebates are in US dollars so you can try either open up a US dollar account and wait for better FX rate or just hold on to the check for a bit (before expiry of course) to see where FX goes.
