Quiz - Which car is this (for Pete...)

Recommended Posts

I've seen this type of double headlight modification on cars set up for rally. Too bad as it ruins the lines of the car. The GT6 was the poor man's "E" type. I had one back in the late 60's, it was a lot of fun. This one appears to be a Mk 1 either a ' 67 or a ' 68.

You're right... the model I shot above was clearly tuned for Rallyes... with 2 lamps more on the front and one attached on the top. Next to it there was a "standard" model of the same color... in these days, next to my town, similar findings aren't rare, for the famous Mille Miglia is approaching...

Sorry, I only just saw this but I would not have known what the car was! :D

I don't think that I have ever sen a car with the extra lights- looks like a neat job.

Edit: looking at the last photo I can see that the car on the right is something special- was this a works/prototype for racing/rallying?

Yes, and it's the model with the extra lights ... the left window was just opened the width to introduce my 21 (hood removed...:)) and shot the driver's seat...

Clearly modified for rally use...

Having taken the time to look at the differences between these cars I'd guess that the one on the right was a hand-made prototype for competition work; just about every detail is different from the one on the left. I know absolutely nothing about Triumphs, btw, except that the works colour is a rather fetching shade, reminiscent of Manchester City's blue. :D
