symmetron Posted May 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone noticed that the effective focusing range in MACRO mode is "significantly reduced"? The manual, page 36, says it is. I presume the camera focusing range in Macro mode is reduced at the infinity range, but I haven't noticed any difference versus the normal focusing range. What exactly does "effective focusing range is significantly reduced" mean?
Advertisement Posted May 2, 2009 Posted May 2, 2009 Hi symmetron, Take a look here Effective focusing range on DL4 Macro mode. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
farnz Posted May 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 3, 2009 I think it means that it will focus on objects closer than the AF setting will. I find that if I forget to switch from Macro focus to AF it takes a bit longer to focus (probably because it's moving additional lens elements) but it will focus on infinity okay.
