innerimager Posted April 30, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have continued my march back in time from all digital to the M7, M5, and now an M3. I added a 50 lux pre-asph to be it's mate, here's one of the first images of a wife who's contentment seems to mirror mine! jplomley Posted April 30, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 30, 2009 Very nice Peter. Out of curiosity, why three M's? I could see two....one for color and one for B&W.
roguewave Posted April 30, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 30, 2009 Peter, you have finally purchased a camera that you will never part with & a perfect stable mate. I have the same kit & it stands ready at arms for my use. I true pleasure & treasure to use & behold. Congrats & let the posting begin. One day, you need to drag the kit & yourself into town so we can make music together. Congrats.
Frank Sprow Posted April 30, 2009 Share #5 Posted April 30, 2009 My favorites are at both ends of the M spectrum. My old M3 DS, loaded with Tri X and My M8.2 Both get lots of use (I'm now in Al Basrah, Iraq)
innerimager Posted April 30, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted April 30, 2009 Very nice Peter. Out of curiosity, why three M's? I could see two....one for color and one for B&W. Fair question Jeff. I actually have 4 film bodies at the present time. An M7 0.85 for using with my 75/1.4 and 90 mm lenses, and a 50 lux. A 0.72 for 24mm, 35mm . lenses These are my main shooters, and the 2 view finders let longer and shooter lenses stay on when I carry both. The M5 was my look into manual metering only, as all my prior cameras has fully automatic metering before the M8/7. I think the M3 will replace the M5 as a truly old school way of shooting, I love it's size and feel. The M5 will likely go, but I do like seeing the shutter speed in the finder a lot. best...Peter

To think that in many important ways, the original is still the greatest, with it's amazing finder and ergonomics. I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to meeting up with you and others in the city, I'm just soooo busy. That Freddy Hubbard Memorial would be a no brainer if I lived in town, but I'm going to try and get free early enough Monday to make it. It will happen though. Anyway, I wish you a speedy return home and an even healthier one. best....Peter
