bebert Posted November 2, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 2, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, Congratulation and many thanks to all the reviewers. One question for me before ordering a M8 : is there any of the forum members who has made b&w fine-art prints from a M8 file? I can understand that the discussions about 8-bit vs 16-bit or about high ISO are key for most of us (at least to understand Leica's choice), but a good shoot with a good camera shall IMO result in an outstanding 13' x 19' print. What is your experience? JM Humbert Paris, France

pascal_meheut Posted November 2, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 2, 2006 Same for me. I have no candidate yet in the pictures I shot with the M8 for such a print but I did a quick comparison with the DMR: same file quality. Anyway, a B&W print will say more about the color->B&W conversion and the printing technique & equipment than about the M8.
earleygallery Posted November 2, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 2, 2006 Indeed, the file should be about as good as it gets (for the sensor size) but it will be very much a case of the post processing/printing decisions you make.
