This is probably old news to many but the 2001 Frei film, WAR PHOTOGRAPHER is available to watch online in its entirety -- perhaps even in a longer version than that originally broadcast in the UK -- at least it seems so to me. Unfortunately (for non-German speakers anyway) the interview contributions from his German publishers and magazine editors are untranslated, but that said there also seem significant parts that I simply don't remember in the original version I saw -- such as an editorial meeting and a quite long darkroom/test print sequence.

It's a fascinating stuff but uncomfortable film, but anyone seeing it for the first time will almost certainly watch it more than once. The idea of mounting video cameras on the body of Nachtwey's camera was something of a stroke of genius and comparing the momentary, passing jumble of events that pass before Nachtwey's lens with the stark definitve black-and-white images he takes seems to have an air of magic about it, even after repeated viewing.
