slabwax Posted April 20, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 20, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just received my DL-2. It was an ebay deal via Popflash. So far I love this camera. I see why this camera has become a cult favorite. Tomorrow I'll take it out and shoot all day. I can't wait. I've been looking in to a half case. I like Luigi half case but I can't afford one at this time. Would any one know were I could find the Panasonic case? Google was of no help on this one. Down the road I'll pick up one of his cases and a strap but right now I just need some thing. Thanks Dean

symmetron Posted April 21, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 21, 2009 I use a Zing Neoprene SLR case which has worked well for the last two years. It's light, easy to put on and remove, and it's cheap...about $30. Most of all, it offers great protection.

I love my D2, but can't find a case that I like. I've tried Luigi's half case, the black leather Lumix ever-ready case and the Leica pouch case. They're all good for what they are, but they aren't quite what I want, so I've just put them all on eBay. Does anyone know of another kind of case? They're all good for what they are, but they aren't quite what I want, so I've just put them all on eBay. Does anyone know of another kind of case? For my D2 I swap between the Lumix Ever-ready case and a Crumpler Zieube depending on where I'm travelling to. Incidentally for my D3/L1, I swap between the Leica D3 Neoprene and the Crumpler Zieube. So the Zieube fits either a D2 or D3 nicely. The Zieube has not been sold new for a few years, they occassionally appear on ebay and amazon for about USD20. DenisM Posted April 30, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 30, 2009 I use a Zing Neoprene SLR case which has worked well for the last two years. It's light, easy to put on and remove, and it's cheap...about $30. Most of all, it offers great protection. I was looking for a case as well. I happened to notice the bag we've been using for my son's lunchbox for pre-school (here in the states, pre-school is for four-year-olds). It's something we've had lying around since he was a baby - from a company called Munchkin which makes an insulated bottle holder. Because it's designed to hold extra bottles of formula or milk, it's quite narrow and compact, but I put the D2 in there back down and it fit perfectly! It's insulated and made of some sort of camera bag like cordura fiber which makes it both padded AND waterproof. Not only that but it has side pockets and a front zipped compartment which opens up and is big enough to hold extra batteries, sun hood, etc. But the camera fits snugly in the bag with the hood attached, facing up. The ONLY drawback is that this one is from 2004, and the newer ones (I haven't seen them in the stores, but only the picture on Amazon) look like they've changed the design. If I see one and find out that they're pretty much the same thing as what I have, I'll definitely post it. It's like a custom case! Denis
Guest flatfour Posted May 2, 2009 Share #7 Posted May 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have always steered clear of Leica cases as they advertsie the quality of you camera if it is left anywhere. I have leather CaseLogic cases for all my Leicas.
