"Bright Chrome" Barnack Bodies

I recently came across a classifieds listing which says:

"Some of the III models produced in 1934 with 13XXXX serial #s have bright chrome bodies, which are shinier than regular chrome bodies. They are sought after among collectors."

The picture really looked quite beautiful. If this is true, are they IIIa models? Can anyone point me to where I can find more information?

Thanks,

Photo or link? I don't think so, careful its not a Russian fake - they usually have shiny silver/chrome or gold finishes.

Some war/post war period models had a lower quality finish which is evident by peeling/corrosion now. Maybe one of our experts will clarify.

Here on this picture of my LTM Leica's you can see the difference in chromium: far left the Leica III from 1934 (first batch), with shiny chromium, second, in between, the IIIc which chromium is less shiny, and next at the right the two IIIf models with matt chromium. The same difference in finishes can be seen on the elmars in this picture.

What is claimed to be Henri Cartier-Bresson's first Leica is on display at his institute.

It appears to be a bright chrome body.
