alun Posted April 22, 2009 Share #21 Posted April 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) As others have said -- if the price isd indeed for a TTL *and* the 35 ASPH it's probably around half what you might expect to pay a dealer. Fantastic price -- although I must say it seems almost too good to be true!! The M6TTL and 35mm is a great shooting combination -- fast, good depth of field so that you can focus approximately by feel or zone focus, light. Ignore all this "Oh but 50 is the standard lens" -- the standard lens is the one you take most pictures with. For some that's a 50, for some a 35, for others a 28.... FWIW I use an M6TTL and 35/2 almost all the time -- although I do also like a 50 now and then for those times when I want to ease out a bit of the clutter in a picture or work from a lttle further away. Buy it and enjoy!!

Guest flatfour Posted April 22, 2009 Share #22 Posted April 22, 2009 alun - Surely the "standard" lens is the one that produces a distortion free picture. A wide angle or a telephoto lens is designed to distort by either filling the frame with more of the subject or less of the subject without requiring the photographer to move closer or further away. People tend to be more happy with wideangle lenses because it packs more into the frame.
Finnkare Posted April 22, 2009 Share #23 Posted April 22, 2009 ^ To me, focal length is not at all about getting closer or further, as long as it's physically possible. My feet serve the focal lengths, not vice versa. Visuality is far more important than my soles.
