kenneth Posted April 17, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted April 17, 2009 Who says that Leica don't see a future for a film rangefinder? I read comments about peoples fear of the demise of the M7 and MP so I guess the more serious camera manufacturers that endorse film rangefinders the better. At the cooking end we have Voigtlander with the new Zeiss mid price and top end Zeiss Ikon and top dog Leica
leicanut2 Posted April 23, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 23, 2009 Rangefinder cameras and film will never go away, and even if I buy a m8.2 my MP lives on. I am looking at trying a Zeiss lens only because one big buy a year is about my limit and I really like to get a 18mm Theres is nothing like picking up a batch of pictures from the camera store and taking the FIRST look always a thrill for me. TimF Posted April 23, 2009 Share #7 Posted April 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) All this stuff about the demise of film is just tosh (or perhaps wishful thinking by some of the digital taliban ). When I was in my Leica dealer at the w/e collecting a lens from service, the owner said he'd sold around four a la carte cameras recently. The market is there, and will remain so long as people wish to shoot film.
earleygallery Posted April 23, 2009 Share #8 Posted April 23, 2009 Bit of a time delay.......? The people who keep saying film is dead etc., are generally those who have made the switch 100% to digital and are blind to the fact that many photographers still prefer to use film, and many more enjoy using both mediums.
