stunsworth Posted April 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Mr Barton and I discussing this at the weekend, and I suggested either Blackpool or Tatton Park in Cheshire - two more different places would be hard to find. Any preference between the two? How does the first weekend end in June sound - 6th or 7th?

jmr Posted April 15, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 15, 2009 Either Blackpool or Tatton would be fine by me - sadly I can't make that weekend though
jimbo035 Posted April 21, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 21, 2009 Blackpool ? Been there once or twice. Tatton Park ? Not never. Coincedentally the only weekend in June free for me is the 21/22. According to the Park WebSite : Saturday June 20th to Sunday 21st Medieval Fayre at the Old Hall To celebrate the 11th Medieval Fayre at Tatton in association with Plantagenet Events, there will be an even bigger and better battle each day. Men at arms, archers, gunners and a ragtag army exciting and atmospheric event. Much to do and see, hear and smell, drink and eat. Over forty authentic merchants and skilled artisans complete a bustling travelling fair.
andybarton Posted April 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted April 22, 2009 I can only make the first weekend in June. The second weekend is the Forum Meeting in Hessenpark, the third I shall be getting over a general anaesthetic and the fourth I shall be working in Blackpool in any case at a public consultation. July?

elansprint72 Posted April 25, 2009 Share #8 Posted April 25, 2009 Just a reminder that the Gawsworth Classic Car show is on BH Monday 4th May, due for some good weather, Shirley?
stunsworth Posted April 25, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted April 25, 2009 Pete, date noted! At the moment it's looking as if I can't make the beginning of June or the end of July. An involuntary period of repose means that I'll probably be heading to my estate in France. To be fair, its not my estate, and it's not even an estate, just a friend's cottage - but the wine is cheap and the sun is, well, sunny.

elansprint72 Posted June 11, 2009 Share #13 Posted June 11, 2009 So; as usual, "we" have managed not to organise anything serious since Christmas. Not good enough chaps. There are loads of unique events happening in The North, where it is grim, (thanks, Margaret)..... why don't we get out there while the wives are doing the dusting/ironing......... but.... Manchester walkabout anyone? Meet up somewhere near the 'dilly and head off up the Ashton canal, loads of Life on Mars locations, turn left and return via Ancoats, the world's first Industrial suburb (failed).... New East Manchester - World's first industrial suburb wins national regeneration award then pub...... etc. As for "the events"..... c'est toujours comme ca ici............ like.
