dritz Posted April 13, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Novoflex now has an adapter for the micro 4/3rds mount (MFT/LEM). Yes, the crop factor is 2x but that can be quite useful. It supports aperture priority (well, duh) and, I assume, supports manual focus through live-view. Ok, any experience out there? doubledan Posted April 13, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 13, 2009 I have both the Novoflex and Rayqual adapters, and while both focus to infinity (this has been an issue with some adapters, I gather), Rayqual is the better design. It mounts smoothly on the G1 and has a release tab that makes it possible to keep the adapter on the camera and switch to a different M-mount lens. Yes, it works beautifully in aperture priority. And you can use 10-x magnification for extremely accurate manual focusing, though you have to go through several steps to do it. However, life-size focusing with either the eye-level evf or the tilt-twist lcd works well enough and fast enough much of the time, especially with longer focal length lenses. I frequently shoot with an old Canon 50 1.4 this way, wide open, and I love the results. Maybe more than you want to know, but there's a consensus that using wider focal lengths on the G1 -- say from 35mm on down -- produces smeared corners in your images. Plenty of threads around on the reasons for this. Dan
