Dails Posted April 9, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Guys! Last time I asked about a lens for the Leicaflex SL2 which I inherited. It seems that the lensmeter needle gets blocked by the aperture loop in the viewfinder. Also, the screen in the viewfinder looks lopsided so I can't see the left hand side of the aperture numbers properly in the viewfinder. This camera was serviced in Hong Kong about 2 years ago and I fear that they didn't do a proper job. As such, I think I need to get it DLA service here in Sydney. Trust that will make it a functional camera again. After all my internet browsing, this camera should be a very low maintenance camera. Can anyone please advise who is a reliable Leica service centre in Sydney, Australia so I can get the camera DLA serviced? Secondly, I have an original summicron 50mm/f2.8 lens but I require a UV filter for protection of the lens. Is the filter size proprietary to Leica or can I get any filter? What diameter is the filter please? Thanks for your assistance in advance!

digbyhp Posted April 9, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 9, 2009 Foto Riesel in Kent St may be a good start. They handle a lot of used Leica equipment, so I assume they may know a good service contact.
rsh Posted April 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 9, 2009 I know that it is a long way off, but your best bet is Sherry Krauter in the States. Know one knows SLs, SL2s and M5s better.
giordano Posted April 9, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 9, 2009 The original 50mm Summicron-R takes a Series 6 filter. The filter has a plain metal rim, held in place by the knurled threaded ring that should be on the front of the lens.
