C-Lux 2 issues

Hello Forum !

I'm new here and I'd greatly appreciate any advice on my issue :(

I have a C-Lux 2 which (I think) just started to fail. Days ago I turned on my camera as usual, since then the autofocus refuses to focus properly at regular wide 1x mode, while at max. 3.6x optical (I don't use digital zoom) the camera hardly focuses correctly on bright subjects. All the objects through the display are seen blurred. There is no problem with the zoom lever as the lens barrel goes forward/backward without probs. The issue started coincidently after I inserted a new SDHC 8gb memory card but I don't think it has anything to do with the failure.

I've tried turning off/on the camera, pulled mem. card out and battery, etc, with no luck.

Is there something I'm missing? any ideas :(

Thanks a bunch

Welcome to the Forum. Maybe you've drifted into the habit of accidentally covering some or part of the IR window on the upper right corner of the front of the camera? That IR window is part of the autofocus system. Alternatively, maybe you are not placing the small broken square at the center of the LCD image on the object you want in focus?

If neither of these do the trick, perhaps other Forum members will have an idea. If not, your camera may need a vacation at Leica.

Thanks for your response Stuart,

At this point, it seems the most likely is a camera failure. The IR lamp and the AF square pointer are working ok as far as I can see, at this time I only can take pictures using the max.3x optical zoom.

thanks again
