gareth_c Posted July 3, 2006 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I thought I had posted this on the old forum but couldn't find it when searching. Anyway, this was my first 'proper' attempt at a landscape and was looking for all and any advice. Please feel free to dig in (I won't be offended)... Digilux 2. Advertisement Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Hi gareth_c, Take a look here First (and last?) . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted July 3, 2006 Share #2 Posted July 3, 2006 Gareth, certainly not your last, I hope. I think this is rather good, you've captured a good range of tones in the image with the darker foreground contributing well to the depth of the shot. Nice work. gareth_c Posted July 3, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted July 3, 2006 I hope not too...though I will need to find inspiration closer to home (this was taken on our honeymoon to indonesia). Having seen so many great photos here at the forum I think the lake district is calling me in August!

Guest maddin Posted July 4, 2006 Share #5 Posted July 4, 2006 Hello Gareth, seeing your bw shot i thought that must have been kodak bw 400 cn. very fine tones. nice. did you take that in b&w mode or did you photoshop? cheers
gareth_c Posted July 4, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted July 4, 2006 Converted in photoshop. Actually, I used an action that I have been playing with to attempt to create rich mid tones. It's a touch dramatic (!) but it suits this shot well I think.
