erl Posted October 30, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) In the last few days, I have been getting an annoying advertisement on the home page of The leica Forum that overlays the topic list, making reading (of the Forum page) almost impossible. It is an advertisement for Amazon Books and seems to change each day. I don't know if it is a paid ad that should be placed in the left hand column with the Leica ad, but it really messes up my viewing each time I log on. Any help or advise? Thanks, Erl

stumac Posted October 30, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2006 Hi Erl, Perhaps this is a quirk of your browser, I dont have any problem using Firefox, everything is where it should be. Regards, Stuart
erl Posted October 30, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted October 30, 2006 Thanks Stumac, I just tried I.E. and it is OK. But my preferred browser is Opera. It has alway proven superior in the past. Even if the problem is browser specic, why ONLY on the Leica Forum? Is it a legitimate ad here? Cheers, Erl

erl Posted October 30, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted October 30, 2006 Erl, sorry for that! I'll try to fix it this evening. Regards Andreas Thanks Andreas, But of course I could be wrong with my assumption. Often am!! Time may tell. Mark, My problem (just another one) is that I hate Bill Gates Stuff. I only use the minimum to get me by. Such is my burden! Cheers, Erl
LUF Admin Posted October 30, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 30, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) OK, works at least with all relevant Win browsers - the IE6 still has a small problem, but now the amazon box is visible and doesn't overlap anything else. Tonight I'll check the Mac browsers but that shouldn't be that big problem... Regards Andreas
