chris_livsey Posted April 3, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) There were a couple of threads ISTR a while ago (search is NOT intuitive) on the lack of E6 labs in the North West. For a particular project I need some E6 doing so have had a quick search and these two labs appear to be still alive and doing E6. I haven't 'phoned them as I'm off on a trip (travel not LSD) later nor obviously tried them yet but given the problems these two look viable. Printing and Processing - Farnell Photographic Laboratory Bolton Colour Lab professional 120mm photographic printing The Lancaster one is listed as a Kodak pro Lab so I hope to see if the Ektar 100 is handled by them to produce better results than I have obtained up to now. I have seen some good work from the film and I have half a dozen rolls to play with.
Advertisement Posted April 3, 2009 Posted April 3, 2009 Hi chris_livsey, Take a look here E6 Processing( NW of UK ). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted April 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 3, 2009 There's a shop in South Manchester (D.S Colour Labs, 720 Wilmslow Rd, Manchester, M20 2DW ), but you need to catch them on the right day (or dump a bucket full of film on the desk, to make it worth their while) There's also a shop (The Colour Centre, 29 Chester Road, Whitby, Ellesmere Port. CH65 9BE ) in Ellesmere Port who will do it same day for you, even on a Saturday, if you ask nicely. This is who I use when I don't do my own. All the pro labs in Manchester have closed and have been for some time. Anyone any experience of these guys? http://www.lab35imaging.com/ (Via mail order - Leicester is in the wrong place, of course )
cocker Posted April 3, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 3, 2009 I use DS in Didsbury and they are good. I haven't been for a few months but I think Andy slightly overstates! They only do E6 in runs but I have never had to wait more than 2 - 3 days to pick up after calling in unannounced. There is a very good coffee shop and cafe down the road to make your visit worthwhile!

chilohm Posted April 7, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 7, 2009 What about Peak Imaging? Not the cheapest in the world, but I've never had less than great results and their turnaround is pretty quick.

Tim B Posted April 8, 2009 Share #8 Posted April 8, 2009 Yes, Peak is great, with good turn round. I'm in London and usually get films back within three days. Film is really clean and scratch fee, too. Tim
gyoung Posted April 8, 2009 Share #9 Posted April 8, 2009 Does anyone know about any reliable and reasonably priced E6 mailing service in the UK? or anything in the south/south-east/midlands? I use Home , they give you prepaid first class mail labels and return first class, almost always processed and returned on the day of arrival, so usually back as quick as possible, depending on the post office! The processing is good of course, and in good mounts and proper plastic boxes. Gerry
andybarton Posted April 25, 2009 Share #10 Posted April 25, 2009 Just dropped off a couple of rolls at my place near Ellesmere Port. "Am I the last of your customers wanting E6 processed?" "Far from it. I have just written myself a note to order more chemicals, as I am running out" This is good.
Mark Jones Posted April 25, 2009 Share #11 Posted April 25, 2009 I use BPD Photech Ltd, Unit 20, Aston Court, Kingsland Grange, Warrington, Cheshire, WA1 4SG. Website: BPD Photech » Warrington Photo Lab Professional Digital Photographic Printing, Canvases, Ilfochromes/Cibachromes, Scanning, Mounting, Processing, Laminating Excellent quality. Do mail order processing. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Well worth supporting. They do superb Cibachrome hand prints as well, by the way. Can you kindly direct me to the right source? and Sounds good, but I did not find any " prepaid first class mail labels" on their website. Could you help? See chris_livsey's reply for the E6 processing directions. They don't use prepaid first class mail labels. I pay the postage to them (part of "they're not the cheapest"). They're still good value for quality!
gyoung Posted April 26, 2009 Share #17 Posted April 26, 2009 Sounds good, but I did not find any " prepaid first class mail labels" on their website. Could you help? I posted the first batch to them paying for the postage myself, since then each lot of returned film comes with a prepaid first class mailing label for the next lot. Three rolls posted last Tuesday (21 April) came back Thursday, all clean and tidy! Best Wishes, Gerry
