John, i've been wanting to say something about this pic of yours but hesitated. Please do not get me wrong. This is a very good B&W image, honestly. I think i had pointed out on an other image of yours somthing similar.The only thing that bother's me is the strong whitish patch of the sun shining through. If i were you, i would try and avoid this by hiding the sun more with the leaves and branches.This is an honest opinion John to what i think is a very good photo. Best Azzo

Ok this would work..but as you see the digital sensor here just gets everything overblown and ruins it..if it was a higher megapix camera or film this would have been a great... when using my digital camera I always make sure the sun is hidden by something so this doesn't happen.

thanks for the comments; I had hesitated about posting the shot for the very reason you both state - there's a hole blown in it :o

 

On balance I decided to put it up anyway, because I rather liked it despite its faults.

 

I do usually try to get the sun behind the leaves and branches as you suggest - it really does help.
