Hello,

I just got my D-lux 4 recently (and my first leica, too!), and I've purchased the adapter from lensmate + 46 mm CP filter. I was trying to put on the original leica lens cap after attaching the adapter and filter, but it won't stay. Does anyone know where I can get a lens cap that will fit with the filter on? Thanks so much in advance!!! :)

I have two lensmate adapters, and bought two Leica M lens caps for them. Works great.

I just went to a local camera store & bought one that would fit for just a few dollars. If you sling the camera over one shoulder, you run a risk of loosing a lense cap while hiking around. To solve this, I have several caps. I found the ones by Hamma are quite nice. But to keep it on the lense, I bought a metal screw in that screws into the filter. This WILL NOT get knocked off! By the way, what kind of filters do you have? I got a Heliopan UV and a B&W CIRCULAR polarizer because they are made from the old standby Schotts glass! Spend all that money to have that Leica lense, may as well have the best glass for it to see thru!

Thanks for everyone's replies. Now I finally figured out what those two little clips that came with the lensmate adapter do. They make the original leica lens cap fit the 46 mm adapter size. I got a cheap lens cap too from a local camera store that I put over the CP filter + adapter when it's not in use.
