Wonderful collection, JC, and every piece looks like fresh out of the box.

One small comment:

One of the last producted M3, over 1100 000 serial number range, 1967 issued model,...

The very last produced M3 did not have the encircling protrusion around the lens release button. I own a late M3 (serial no. 1 14x xxx) which still has it, a friend of mine owns an even later one (serial no. 1 15x xxx) which no longer has this feature.

If your M3 is in fact from 1967, it should bear a serial no. over 1 15x xxx and should NOT have the protection ring around the lens release button. So out of curiosity, what are the first four digits of your 1967 M3?

Regards,

Andy

Mine is 67 (purchased 68), Serial 1158677, and does not have the ring round the lens release button. I used to have 1158466 as well, which was the same.

Thanks jc, thats what happens when you think you remember instead of checking!

They were bought in 1968 from the Leica dealer in Montreal where I was working, and came from the Canadian importer at the time, Walter Carveth. They certainly took their time geting from Wetzlar to Montreal!

Thank you gentlemen for your time and comments appreciated.

Let me add my sincere appreciation of your incredible collection and also the beautiful presentation.

They all make my mouth water! As a user and not collector, I have gathered some fine lenses but all that pales compared to what you have shown - and I hope will continue - to show.
