Advertisement Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Hi johnkuo, Take a look here Trains. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cardinal Posted October 27, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 27, 2006 Real nice shots, I like the exposure of them. What developer did you use with your Tri-X? Good job, John. That is one modern Union Station.
hamey Posted October 27, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 27, 2006 Well done John, However may I offer some advice. Wide angle lenses are great whenever room is a problem, but they tend to tilt the subject and on Photographing trains it does'nt look good. For the general concencies between rail photographers it's 50 to 90mm is the recomended choice. If you don't mind, I have tilted your first shot back to what I think is respectable. Thats one handy feature about correcting images on computers. Cheers.
johnkuo Posted October 27, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted October 27, 2006 Thanks Bill and Ken. This is actually the first time I took pictures of trains. I appreciate your advice. The corrected version looks good.
abrewer Posted October 27, 2006 Share #5 Posted October 27, 2006 Nice pics. Lots of contrast and interesting lines in them, John. Thanks for sharing. And thanks to Ken for pointing out that little nuance about which lens to use for train-shooting. That will come in handy real soon. Bill knows what I'm talking about! Thanks. lambroving Posted November 2, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 2, 2006 Like Ken's correction and would agree that a 50 is the best choice for trains when you have the room.
