cardinal Posted March 13, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is it possible to photograph fast cars, airplanes or trains with the Dlux 4? I know a film camera with a motor drive will work but will the Dlux be the same like an M body with the motor drive attatched? I photograph fast objects and the digital cameras I have used always photograph the object 1 second too late. I am aware the Dlux 4 has the continous mode but is it the same with an M body with a motor drive?
Advertisement Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Hi cardinal, Take a look here Moving Objects with the Dlux4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest Essemmlee Posted March 13, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 13, 2009 I don't think the D-Lux 4 was designed for that type of application. It's more like me - designed for comfort and quality rather than speed.
Ed_K Posted March 14, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 14, 2009 Then again may be you can try panning along with the subject at slow shutter speed, giving that strake line effect behind a "stationery" fast moving subject.
farnz Posted March 15, 2009 Share #4 Posted March 15, 2009 Why not use the excellent high definition video? And there's bound to be software on the web that'll give yo a stills capture from video if you particularly want stills. Pete.

You can actually import the video into Quicktime, copy stills, and paste them into Photoshop for further editing. Works pretty well!
